Project Description/Expedition:
You are a famous artist, and this is your last day ever to work in your fancy studio with all of your fellow artists before you go out and start making art on your own! You have worked on a lot of projects this semester and have a couple last things to finish up with. Now is your last chance, so you must spend good time finishing up. Prove that your artwork is worthy of being in an art exhibit
Essential Understanding:
Visual art is a means of self-expression and storytelling.
Inquiry/Learning target:
You have been working so hard all semester to create wonderful works of art. Now, it is almost time for our big art show. Who knows what an art show is? What is in it? We are going to finish some of your art works so they are ‘art show ready’. What do you think that means? We are going to paint our clay food sculptures and if you have not finished your artist trading cards, you will have time to finish those as well. This means that our sculptures will be completely covered in paint. Also, it means we have a front AND a back for our artist trading cards. If you finish early, we have an activity planned called ‘Story Scenes’.
